Molly the cow wanted to be different. Every day, cows said, “Moo.” But Molly was bored. “I want a new sound,” she said. She saw Kitty the cat. Kitty said, “Meow.” Molly loved it. The next morning, the farmer came to the barn. Molly opened her mouth and said, “Meow!” The farmer dropped his bucket. “A cow said meow!” he shouted. The chickens laughed. The pigs laughed. Kitty the cat looked proud. “I am a great teacher,” said Kitty. Then Kitty tried to say moo. “Moo,” said Kitty. The farmer dropped another bucket. “A cat said moo!” he shouted. Soon every animal wanted a new sound. The duck said, “Woof.” The dog said, “Quack.” The pig said, “Neigh.” The horse said, “Oink.” The farmer sat on the ground and said, “I need a vacation.” Molly smiled and said, “Meow-moo.”
