Andy the ant found a giant cake. It was on a picnic blanket. Andy looked at the cake and smiled. “I can carry this home,” he said. He pushed it. The cake did not move. He pulled it. The cake did not move. He kicked it. His foot hurt. “Ouch. Strong cake.” Andy called his friends. Ten ants came. They pushed. Nothing. Twenty ants came. They pulled. Nothing. Then one little ant said, “Why don’t we eat some first?” Everyone was quiet. Andy said, “That is the smartest idea I have ever heard.” The ants ate one side of the cake. Then they pushed again. The cake moved a little. They ate another side. Then they pushed again. The cake moved more. After an hour, the cake was very small. Andy picked it up easily. “See?” he said. “Teamwork works!” His friend said, “Yes, especially when teamwork is delicious.”
